5Great for Lactose-Intolerant PeopleFeb 10, 2010
By Taryn "Marine Wife"
I bought these at a GNC nearby, and I love them! Like all protein drinks, there's a small aftertaste. It's not bad at all, especially compared to like a Muscle Milk shake made at home. The flavor, otherwise, is really great. It's a smooth drink with a very nice flavor. It's nice and gentle on my stomach, and really energized me and kept me full for a while.

4Not too sweet no after tasteSep 23, 2008
By M. Wolf
There are two things I have found about nutritional drinks. Most have way too many sugars and other have a powdery after taste. Some even have both!

Mix 1 Mango has a nice balance between sweet and tangy with no after taste. The texture is smooth and not overly thick.

Great taste, well balance nutrition and it avoids a lot of the common food allergens.

Because it is packaged in a light weight plastic recyclable bottle it is lighter weight than many of the other meal replacement drinks.

5Fantastic! Perfect Meal in a BottleSep 08, 2008
By laz_254 "laz_254"
I've worked in jobs where sometimes you can't stop; much less sit and eat. This item, Mix1, took care to provide all I needed in a meal and more. It's everything one needs in a world of nonstop, get-there-first rat racing. Hungry at work and can't go to a restaurant or cafeteria? Just finished working out and your body needs critical nutrients and you don't want/can't risk fast food? Want to hold the calorie intake down and want anything that's better than a bland meal-replacement shake? Don't want the usual coffee pick-me-up? Mix1 is the answer to all those questions. It might be the answer to your nutrition quandary. I drink it at work when it's crazy and there's no time for a 15-minute break. I drink it when I finish at the gym. I drink it as a snack when my earlier meal was less than healthy. I even use it when I feel run-down from stress or an oncoming cold. It's fantastic! I compare it to a Met-Rx shake (a thoroughly complete mix, but needs a blender for good prep) mixed with V-8's Fusion juice (4 vegetables and 4 fruit juices in one bottle, but no protein). I cannot recommend this product enough. By the way, research shows that for a more complete recovery one must consume protein with carbs in a 3xcarbs-to-1xprotein ratio. Mix1 is a great start and finish!

5Less filling, tastes great! :)Sep 06, 2008
By A. Dent "Aragorn"
It actually does taste good. Of course, 'taste' is quite a subjective matter so, to establish some frame of reference, I drink V8s in the winter, eat mass quantities of raw tomatoes while in season, real mangoes whenever they are on sale. But, given that I wouldn't take real mangoes to the office - messy to handle on a desk - I can see myself keeping a few bottles of 'mix one' in the fridge to help me start the day on good note.

To sum it up: 200 calories, nice ingredients, including real mango juice, the expected amounts of vitamins and minerals.

Overall, I enjoyed it. There is no after-taste and it seems to be filling enough to keep me going through lunch. If the price seems right to you and you enjoy the mango taste, go for it.

1Not My Cup of TeaSep 18, 2008
By William Hefner "William Van Hefner"
I didn't really like the taste of the "mango" flavor, unlike the "berry" version of this beverage. When chilled, the drink has the basic taste and consistency of liquid yogurt. My biggest problem with the product is that it seems to be marketed as some kind of high-protein nutrition drink. I pay close attention to labels and I have tried numerous different high-protein nutrition supplements. You will find many of these drinks or mixes available from Syntrax, EAS, Muscletech, Atkins, etc. The thing that makes Mix1 different from quality products like those above is its excessive amount of SUGAR. At 22 grams, it has more sugar than chocolate milk, more than most fruit juices and 20 times what you will find in most healthy protein drinks. It includes twice as many carbohydrates 29g as protein and a whopping 200 calories. If you are trying to lose weight or gain muscle mass, this product is NOT going to help. If you want quick energy with antioxidants and lots of sugar, just fruit juice would be a better choice. It's much cheaper and about as healthy. If you have Diabetes, you should avoid Mix1 altogether, as it will definitely spike your glucose blood sugar levels beyond where you want them.
