Chew Sweetarts are GreatJun 07, 2008

I don't know what it is about these chewy Sweetarts but I just love the strong, powerful sweet and sour taste and the chewy texture. The chewy Sweetarts seem more sweet and have a more powerful flavor than the regular hard candies. I'm not sure if it's the ingredients or the texture but they are very flavorful and a great treat.

STALEApr 08, 2009
By Stephanie J. Cornell Ordinarily Wonka Giant Chewy SweeTarts are my favorite candy. I was impressed by the fast shipping and delivery by Amazon.com but was immediately disappointed because the candy was stale. I signed up for automatic reshipment but I might cancel because I don't know whether they'll send me the same stale product I received this time. I'd rather pay higher prices and get fresh product from someone else.

By James Harris The product seemed old and hard. The only way we are eating it is to microwaving it for a bit.
change in recipe?Feb 22, 2012
By lbshutes this is my review. (i have commented said review on other reviewers because it seems fitting.) I may have to contact Wonka at some point to verify my suspicions...
I remember as a kid (15-20 years ago) these were chewy right out of the package. But I couldn't find them in stores for a long time. When I finally did get a hold of some 5 years ago or so, stale is how I found them. And it has seemed to be that way ever since. So, the trick is... throw the pack on the ground to break each into smaller pieces and then allow it to sit in your mouth for a bit afterwards, getting chewy. They've been this way for a while now, suggesting a recipe change. I know we shouldn't have to pay for them to be this way, but I am a huge fan. We do what we must.
Awesome!Dec 18, 2011
By Jule Angel I bought these for Halloween treats, but a few of us in the office snagged a few first. They are awesome! You'll probably only eat one and save the others for later, and if you don't want the experience of one large Sweetart in your mouth at once (although you might want to at least try it, but not when the phone might ring any time soon) before you open the package, hit it against a counter or something to break it up a little. These were less than $20, for 36 treats, and they were a big hit with the kids. We were a favorite house, and noticed some repeat customers!
