Classic thin Scottish oatcakesNov 05, 2010
By Amis These are really good with cheese, or jam, honey or perhaps best of all, with homemade lemon curd! Yes, they are crisp, very dry and rather crumbly but that is exactly how they should be. I have never been able to find proper Scottish oatcakes in my part of the USA so it was a thrill to be able to get these through Amazon. I was impressed by how fresh they tasted and that they arrived intact. I now have them on my Subscribe and Save list.
I just wish we could also get the thicker style oatcake bannocks (about 1/4 inch thick and generally shaped in farls (a farl is a quarter round) from Amazon!

By Douglas L. Dean If you have any Scottish blood in you, treat yourself to some of these fine oat cakes. They can turn a bowl of soup into a meal. Amazing with your favorite cheese and sliced meats.

Good with Ardbeg and HoneySep 27, 2011
By FYI I've lived and worked in Scotland, and sought a piece of it to chew on; one can't just imbibe peated malt. But these delicious oatcakes are a bit risky, like running about Scottish crags with a kilt and no unders. Tiny hard bits might impede your bite. Maybe sturdy extra-strong Scottish chompers can handle this. The oatcakes are delicious with wild honey, or unadorned in their simple goodness. Just be careful.

By Canyon Wren I love the taste of oats and I am addicted to these things. Delicious with a Cranberry Walnut cheese spread. Like a mini-cheesecake!
