1IF I COULD RATE THIS ITEM WITH A MINUS, I WOULD!!Jan 14, 2010
By Judy L. York
This is a piece of plastic junk that doesn't even rate 1 star! In order to use the "message" portion of this stamper, you have to place one of the included separate "message" pieces of rubber around the "date" face. Both the "date face" and the back of the separate rubber "message" pieces are grooved, which should allow them to fit together as one piece ... that's the intent. Then the premise is when the two pieces have "become one," and come in contact with the two color ink pad, the "message" surrounding the date will be in one color, and the "date" will be in the other color. Problem: The "date," after stamping on paper, is barely visible because it doesn't extend out as far as the rubber "message" piece. Stamping a piece of paper should not require the force of a hammer pounding a nail! On top of that, the instructions are for two other stampers ... not the one in the box? For a few more dollars, I bought a METAL, not plastic, 8-year date stamper with the date in the center of the PAID MESSAGE ... all one piece (no ridiculous grooves), two colors, self inking. I don't have it yet, but I'll review it when it gets here ... it has to be better than this one!

4Works Great with Minor FiddlingAug 19, 2011

I was looking for a self-inking, dated "Entered" stamp. I only found a few, and this was the only one that wasn't black ink (which I was worried wouldn't be visible on a document). I was hesitant to order based on the previous negative review. This stamp didn't come with any instructions, just the date stamp, ink pad, and four rubber phrases that you can choose from to surround the date: "ENTERED", "PAID", FAXED", and "RECEIVED". They all have "BY" and a line to sign at the bottom. I carefully inserted the "ENTERED" rubber stamp piece, making sure it was pushed in all the way and was lined up correctly (it took a little fiddling). Then I inserted the ink pad and stamped away. After a few test stamps using moderate pressure, everything looks great. I don't have problems with the date not showing unless I stamp with very light pressure. I would give this five stars except that there's a little wave in the signature line and I think it would be hard to avoid that when you insert the phrase stamp. All-in-all I'm very satisfied and would repurchase.
