We ordered this cake, however upon arrival this cake was unedible. One could tell without opening the plastic package the cake is shipped in that it was ruined. The cake appeared squashed and liquified, unedible. There are no returns offered by Amazon.com so we basically gave them 30 bucks for nothing. If Amazon.com does not refund our money we will discontinue using amazon for any purchases.

I bought the Tortuga Caribbean Rum cake as a thank you gift, recipients loved it. Said it was moist and flavorful, and tasted just like the cakes they tried when they went on a cruise. They loved it.

i don't actually like the taste of rum cake much. but, i have given these as housewarming presents, birthday presents and mothers day presents and everyone LOVES them! i have given all varieties it seems like the chocolate one is most people's favorite. it is heavy and well worth the price. most people come to know Tortuga rum cakes after going to the caribbean. i have always gotten rave reviews for this gift.

I was given a smaller tortuga rum cake by a friend returning from the caymen islands. After opening the smaller (non 33 oz) version I was given, I knew they would make a great gift idea. Used 4 of them for the 2008 Christmas season, everyone loved them.
P.S. The rum taste is very strong and the cake is very moist. It's also alcohol free (alcohol vaporizes during baking) for those that don't consume alcohol for religious reasons.
