i love these chips! my local market usually only carries the mixed chips (potato, yam, carrot and taro, i think), and the taro chips were always my favorite. i really enjoy the mild nutty flavor and the crunch.

Love em, love em, love em, can't get enough of em. And, at least in PA, they're very hard to find recently. Though 12 bags of chips is a lot, we're thinking of sharing them with friends who either like chips or have been to Hawaii -- it's a little vacation in a bag.

Taro chips are a wonderful alternative to either potato chips or corn chips. They are particularly good with guacamole. A local restaurant makes their own taro chips to serve with guacamole -- that is where I first had them. They also go well with other kinds of dips and salsas. I then went in search of a commercial brand, and I discovered the Terra brand chips, which are every bit as good as the freshly made ones at the restaurant. I have not been able to find them in any supermarket, but was able to purchase them on-line.

Taro (dasheen) is a tropical root plant with asian origins. The ingredients in this 6 oz bag are: Taro, canola oil (and/or safflower or sunflower oil), & salt. I like to think that when I am snacking on this chip, I am eating healthier. The bag claims to have 30% less fat than some leading brans of potato chips. I was delighted to find that I could buy these chips alone, as I always hunted for them when I bought the mixed chips. And, I do use these bags as hostess gifts!

I first tried these as part of the Terra mixed chips and fell in love.. Amazon is the only place I've found them by themselves! These are almost nutty tasting and very crisp.. good for dipping too.. everyone who's tried them thinks they're great! Of course, everyone also asks.. what's Taro?
I highly recommend these! Buy them!
