Best canned chicken everJun 13, 2007
By J. Fulco I've been eating this stuff for 20 years or so, and the only problem I have is with the "pop-off" cans. I have no problem operating a can opener, and these allegedly easy-opening cans are a pain to operate and they splatter stuff all over the place. Other than that, this is by far the best canned chicken I've ever found, possibly because it's in broth, which means there's still some fat left to help keep the flavor in. It's tender, without being mushy, rubbery, or greasy, and I don't recall ever finding any bone fragments, if that's a concern. I've even eaten some that I bought locally that was a few months out of date, and it was as good as any that still had a good date on it. There's another brand of Mixin Chicken out there that's so sorry my cat won't even eat it, but Swanson has definitely hit a home run with this one. Thanks to Amazon for keeping it in stock.

Great chicken to eat out of the can!Apr 23, 2011
By marigoyle I love Swanson's Mixin Chicken. I eat it right out of the can for a quick meal on-the-run. It's in a lovely natural tasting chicken gelatin which is heavenly. The other Swanson chickens may be fine for others, but they are too dry for my purposes.
Last time I ordered a case, I popped a number in the fridge, and then, when I'm hungry, it's a ready-to-eat meal for me.
I'm frustrated that Mixin isn't available at my local stores often. And now, I come to reorder, and again, it's not available. I hope I can get it soon as I just ate the next-to-last can I have on-hand.

A staple in our houseApr 05, 2010
By Daimion I am so glad that Amazon carries this product. We are no longer able to find it in the grocery stores, but it is an integral ingredient in one of my wife's signature dishes - Chicken and Rice. We've tried other canned chicken, but it just isn't the same. My wife's Chicken and Rice is comfort food for our family and without the Mixin' Chicken, the comfort is missing. Great product.

does not look like the drawing on canFeb 21, 2008
By MotherFashion53 This product tastes ok, but pretty high fat for canned chicken-I ordered it too quickly without checking out the nutirional count available . It looks NOTHING like the drawing on the can, but a LOT like baby food , or pet food-my cats enjoy it! For me-I mixed it with some mayo and made a spread out of it

My dog loves itFeb 12, 2008
By Starrphyre This canned chicken doesn't taste too bad--but it is just mush (with tiny bits of bone). Pay attention when you are ordering. I accidentally ended up with this stuff. I tried to make salad with it and it was soupy, even after I had squeezed out as much liquid as possible. It is a funny color red, also. I've been mixin' it into my dog's dry food and he is thrilled!
