I wouldn't recommendJun 18, 2010
By Kuropon The seeds are small and aroma isn't that great even after I roasted.
Bunch fennel seed were mixted in the container so they smelt funny when I opened it. (I hate the smell of the fennel)
I comb them out while I roasted but the fennel smell still lingered. I will never buy this again.
Too Bitter, No sesame flavor at all...Jan 21, 2012
By y1985s I was in a hurry when purchasing the item and did not check my local Asian Market. I trusted Amazon since I rarely had any bad experience with Products sold by Amazon. But I have to day I am extremely disappoited this time.
As pointed out by a previous reviewer, the seeds are quite small. They are not all black in terms of the color. I'd rather say something else (regular white sesame seeds?) are mixed in. Even after roasting, the aroma is not nearly as good as those unroasted decent black sesame seeds I had back when I was in China. Most importantly, the flavor! Those seeds are bitter and I dare say, you must put tons of sugar to barely cover the bittness. Unhealthy on one hand, and bad-tasting on the other hand.
I went to my local Asian market yesterday and I found the sesame seeds there, black and white, are of much better qualify and a lot cheaper.
Bottem line: Would not recommend it to anyone else. Do not waste your money. As much as I like Amazon, you just fail on this one.
Good product at good priceNov 09, 2011

It's clean and tasty at good price compared to local grocery store. I use it to make traditional Chinese breakfast: bake, grind and mix with hot cereal. My whole family love it.
A rare find.Nov 04, 2011
By Frank C. Zimmerman I live in a small town and it's extremely hard to find Black Sesame Seeds here, or if you find them, you have to pay $6 for a small 2oz jar! So I think this is an exceptional buy.
Black Sesame Seeds have a slightly stronger taste than regular white ones, but they really dress up a stir fry, or home-made rice crackers with alternating black and white sesame seeds, such as the recipe "Crispy Rice Crackers" on the blog, "Tess's Japanese Kitchen" (I tried to insert the web address, but Amazon stripped it out!).
Tasty Sesame SeedsAug 16, 2011
By James R. Kelley This is the second 2-pack I've purchased. Large container, and the seeds are tasty. I'll probably buy again.
