4A bit small but they work wellJan 25, 2007
By Helen J. Casper
Despite being a family that recycles, we go through paper plates and bowls at an alarming rate. Because of this, I decided to try the Stalkmarket bowls and see how they worked for us. They are quite a bit more economical than the bowls we buy in the store and I like that they are from recycled sugar cane fiber.

The only drawback is that the 16" bowls are smaller than the 20" bowls we normally buy in the store. Because of this, I can't fit an entire can of Progresso soup entirely in one bowl. However, this is a small price to pay for how well they work. The bowls stay strong even where some other paper bowls fall apart (e.g. when steaming vegetables). I've refrigerated, frozen, microwaved, and had liquids in these bowls- they have stayed strong and never broken on me.

5I love it.Oct 13, 2010
By A. Eberts
I live by myself and have this problem where I run out of bowls or certain dishes, but can't turn on the dishwasher right away until I build up more dirty dishes. Because of this, I end up having to hand wash before and after a meal. Just got sick of it. Usually when I come home from work, I have very little energy or patience to clean anything. And really I have very little cupboard space for any more dishes, so I decided to go the paper plate and bowls route. I also wanted something sturdy and biodegradable. It was important to me not to pollute the earth with a bunch of needless chemicals just so I wouldn't have to do the dishes. And also... the thought of using dish washing liquid and detergent a lot was another concern. I must say that I am beyond impressed... I'm just so happy with these bowls. They are thick (you only have to use one at a time, they are that sturdy) enough and hold liquid perfectly. So far I've done microwave mac and cheese. I've also microwaved tomato soup in these too,and each time these bowls hold up so well. You do have to hold the bowl from the bottom after doing soup because the heat and liquid make it slightly bendable, but this bowl doesn't leak, and still stays really firm (Don't let the slight bending sway you from purchasing these). Also since the bowl isn't made of glass, you don't have to worry about it burning your hands as much. It keeps its shape, and handles the microwave perfectly. 500 is plenty for me and will last quite a few months. Plus I think 16 ounces is a perfect size...not too big and not too small. Best of all... I don't feel guilty about throwing them away.

5Great bowlsFeb 04, 2011

I use this bowls to eat cereals. The size is right, they are firm and there's not a problem with having them full with milk for half an hour (cereals get soggy, but that's not the bowl faults).

5Great 16 ounce bowls from StalkmarketJan 30, 2011
By Creative Shopper "Creative Shopper on Amazon since 2000"
I ordered these on Subscribe and Save because I love having home delivery of products that I use frequently. I also love the 15% discount! The bowls are great and have multiple uses. They are great for microwaving which was important to me. The bowl holds up well with hot liquids and doesn't fall apart. As an added bonus, they are eco-friendly! Today I ordered the Stalkmarket 10-Inch Heavy Duty Dinner Plate, 500-Count Case and Stalkmarket 7-Inch Dessert Plate, 35-Count Packages (Pack of 12).

durable and very environmentally friendly. Shouldn't leave liquids in there long though because it'll sweat out liquid from the bottom.
