4I'm Getting Stuck On These Little CansJul 05, 2009
By T. Coleman "Rio Grande Tom"
Whether you're "on the go" like so many here or "on the recliner" like I am, these are just plain handy snacks or light meals without tasting at all bad.

What? You say they're healthy? Welp, if I'd known that I never would have tried them and liked them all. Only complaint I've had is the tuna in one has no taste; but the surroundings are nice.

It's just a healthy little treat for folks who have trouble sometimes getting their veggies. And nice in summer!

5Great meal for the busy person.Mar 12, 2009

All of the St. Dalfour meals are god but this and the couscous are especially so. I find myself having to ration myself and to defend my ration from others in the household who like the whole grain with beans even more than I do. None of us are vegetarians but this stuff we like.

4Healthy EatingApr 12, 2009
By Sarah Smith "Rhubarb"
This product is not as good as the one with sweet corn--it's a little heavy on the herbs, and needed a good spritz with the hot sauce. However, it makes a fine lunch with a glass of iced tea, has lots of protein and fiber, and it's vegan to boot.

5AwesomeMar 26, 2011

I like almost everything about this product, so I'll start with the positives. Firstly, the packaging is pretty, even the can and the salt/pepper packets. It's a good size if you're not super duper hungry - it's the exact size I prefer my lunches to be. It's also a good size for a late-night snack. It tastes GREAT. Seriously, it's weird that something with so few ingredients could have this much flavor.

Unfortunately, the fat and calories for this product make it something I can't enjoy very often. I imagine a lot of the fat comes from the olive oil, which does taste lovely but is too much for me. For one very small serving you get 5g of fat and 170 calories. You're likely to eat the entire thing as it's quite small, so that's 10g of fat and 340 calories which is just too much for this amount of food.

But - if you're not concerned about that, I say try it...you'll probably love it.

3Good meal - If you spiff it upFeb 01, 2010
By Roberta Karchner
I confess. I am not a vegetarian. However I purchased these to consider bringing on a trip as a self-contained meal.

First of all - This comes in a can just bit bigger than a tuna can, with a peel-off cover. It includes salt, pepper, and a spork. The meal says it has "2 servings." However, in most cases (unless you are sharing with a friend) you will eat both servings yourself.

For the entire can, the food values are:
Fat 10g
Sodium 720 mg
Carbs 52g (Fiber 14g - Sugars 4g)
Protein 10g
Total Calories 340

I tried this first as an "on the go" meal taking just a few bites out of the room-temperature can. I wasn't thrilled.

So I emptied the can into a bowl and added an ounce of shredded cheese and a small piece of leftover chicken breast (cut up). I ate it with a small pack of Cheez-its and really did enjoy it as a meal.

While I don't recommend this as an "eat out of the can meal," I do think it has possibilities as a side dish. So, 3 stars.
