Low sodium and tastes like Mom'sMay 15, 2012

My Mom makes her own pea soup and finds this to be a good substitute with low sodium. I bought this soup from Amazon for my Mom because she had purchased it locally and could not find it any more. Our family like the taste. Mom adds potatoes, carrots, and a little bit of ham.

I found this soup by accident - at Marshalls - and was impressed at the low sodium content. I decided to buy it, take it home and play with it.
I crisped a little bit of bacon (1 slice) in a teeny bit of oil, added onions just until clear, browned 3 strips of flanken (any other soup meat will do)and added the ingredients and water according to the package.
I actually added an extra cup of water, carrots and seasoning.
OMG - the best!!!
I ordered four more packages from Amazon and gave them to my sister and sister-in-law and now the work has spread and friends have started asking for some.
I will be reordering very soon.
