Essential for a great Bloody MaryMar 08, 2012
By Silver Bullet The Doherty Hotel in Clare, Michigan has arguably the best Bloody Mary one could ever hope to taste. The exact recipe is a guarded secret, but you can catch a bartender making the mixture if you're lucky and observant. Smithers Beef Broth Concentrate is an essential ingredient. I tried various and sundry beef broth concentrates from other makers but they all fall short of the mark. If you've ever had the pleasure of drinking this Bloody Mary recipe, you know its distinctive taste and this product is simply required. Hard to find -- get it here.

this is not beef brothNov 07, 2011
By S. J. Eggenberger This has no beef in it at all. It is made from soy. I believe it's labeling is totally misleading however I now see the ingredient list on the Amazon page, wish I would have read it before. When something is labeled "Beef Broth Concentrate" I expect it to be exactly that. I was so excited to find this under an 'English beef tea' search, but so disappointed when I smell it and did not smell a hint of beef. That is when I read the ingredient list and saw no beef listed. I added lots to my pot roast gravy and it did not add to the beef flavor at all. Only buy this if you want to support sellers who falsely name and advertise their items.

This Salty Dog Adds Body!Sep 19, 2008

"Mr Fade"
Typical beef-base liquid concentrate but nice all the same. Use it like Julia uses wine; especially if you're a fan of savory stews and similar hearty concoctions. Don't bother with precise measurements; a good dollop or two and you're good to go. Remember to eliminate additional salt if you're using this product. It comes as a two-pack; plenty to get you through the fall and winter burguignon season.
Great ConcentrateMar 06, 2010
By Patricia Smith I use this product all the time and have found it a wonderful addition to keep in my frig! So many uses for it from meats to vegetables. I am like another reviewer I never measure, just add to my recipe. I agree with the added salt comment as well but then I tend to not cook with much salt and add it at the end. Saltiness is such a subjective thing. My husband pours salt on everything so I watch how much I add to recipes in prepping. I also keep the Smithers chicken concentrate as well and find both to be economical and tasty. The 2 pack set will last a longggg time.

Smithers Beef Broth ConcentrateOct 12, 2009
By Sandy G. I had used this product many years ago when it was available in 6 oz bottles in the supermarket and was unhappy when it was discontinued for consumer use. It is wonderful, so much better than the cubes or paste. It disolves instantly in a flavorful broth for sipping or seasoning
