A Pleasing Healthy FoodMar 21, 2006

I just received this in the mail and I am pleased with the taste and nutritional value. I will most likely be eating these in the morning in order to start my day. The bars are a mixture of seeds, fruit, and some nuts. All Natural ingredients which is what I feel safe eating. I like them.

My expectations were pretty low for this, maybe because the wrapper promises "hemp protein powder" and "organic" and "Gluten Free" and various other trendy buzzwords I don't associate with good taste or even good nutrition. However the macronutrients are fairly good (this flavor having much better macros than the other two flavors of Flaxpower bars) and it's pretty high in fiber, so I thought I'd give it a chance.
I quite like it. It's a bunch of seeds and small bits of berries all stuck together with sugar syrup. That probably sounds like birdseed, but I find the taste appealing. It's a little too much on the sweet side, but certainly it's not cloying. I'll get it again.
