Nothing Beyond The OrdinaryAug 03, 2009
By Kathryn S. Leon When our order arrived, we busted open the crackers and this product. We opened three tins. There was not a single mussel in any of them. Each tin had one little olive and a couple pieces of carrot. Plenty of fish fillets but desperately in need of salt. Be prepared to bring salt to your snacking table.
Honestly, why pay the price when you can go to the 99 cent store and buy sardines and mussels for a dollar or two for a dollar? Will not purchase this product again.

kinda expensive for what you getNov 05, 2009
By J. Abramo When I was a child my Father would always purchase antipasto in a can. It was imported from Italy. It came in a round can it had sardines, capers, anchovies, tuna, olives, peppers, pearl onions.Packed in Olive oil. with a sweet tomato sauce. The can was yellow with a embossed sun image smiling on the top of can. It was delicious. They stopped importing it because the demand in Italy was so high. I was trying to experience the same again with this product! when I opened the can it was full of liquid and had a very bad fish smell. I rinsed the contents off and added olive oil and a bit a ketchup to recreate the same as the Sole brand. It was similar after I doctored it up I'm going to buy the items separatly and make my own in the future.
Excellent taste and looks. Too expensive.Oct 05, 2011
By P.Ilou Product tastes great and looks good. At more than 3 dollars per can, far too expensive however. On my personal scale of 0 (worst) to 5 (best) IMHO, these seafood antipasto (sardines, mackerel filet, mussels, octopus) that I have bought and tasted repeatedly in 2011 are rated by me as follows: odor 5/5; presentation 5/5; taste 5/5; texture 5/5 and quantity in can 4/5. Will not buy again unless price decreases at less than 2 dollars per can.

If this was like a buck a can then I'd said it's a rather nice deal. As it is, it's rather underwhelming instead. I liked the sourish taste (vinegar?) well enough though I was hoping for something more original. It's mostly sardines with like a stray piece or two of mussel -- that's it! At least the veggies are provided in fairly decent portions. But almost four dollars a can is crazy!
