Good ValueMar 16, 2010
By Jeffrey S. Alek Good value for the money. Are they the highest quality olives, no, but they are tasty and great for cooking. The main thing about these is that you are buying in bulk, so there is not the level of "selectiveness" of the olives to give a consistent grade. Some are absolutely perfect and great for eating raw. others are a bit mushy, and some have blemishes you probably want to cut away. However, for just over $4 a lb, these are fantastic. When I opened the tin, I immediately placed them into 3 rubbermaid containers. One I hand sorted out the best olives for raw eating and placing out at parties. The rest will be fantastic for cooking. Size of them I would say to be medium. One thing however, don't leave the tin on your counter or in the refrigerator, it stains. So remover all the olives and toss the can into the recycle bin.

Best olives for the money on AmazonMay 19, 2009
By Ananin Ami These olives are an absolute steal based on what they sell for here on Amazon. They have a nice size to them and none of them have been soft. The herb solution that this comes in is a great touch, but I strain it and just use my own mix (olive oil, lemon, fresh herbs).
Overall, a great value and 6 pounds may seem like a lot but we go through a can every month or so (especially in the summer).

Eh. Provence?Oct 18, 2010

Maybe these are from Provence, but you can't taste that. There are no Provencal spices; these are just brined green olives. Also, many are soft which indicates excessive age. I'll try another brand next time.

I have ordered provencal olives four times. Three times they were perfect. The shape was round a little soft and the size was about medium. The taste was perfect. The last order was horrible. They were very tiny, hard as a rock and had a long shape. A very different olive, and the taste was awful. They all went to the trash, because I was afraid to break my teeth. I wan't order them again.
These tend to be goodSep 26, 2010

I've had four or five of these cans, and the olives are consistently decent, but not great. They're appropriate for the price, and very pleasant. The last can I received was a mess, though. There were no herbs whatsoever, and every single olive was inferior, be it discolored, mushy, or with borer holes. I think they accidentally packaged the rejected olives. Major bummer, but how the heck did that make it past quality control?
