OMG made me feel so much betterFeb 23, 2009

I've been having BV constantly, idk why....I am tired of having to go to the doctor all the time so I searched for something that would get rid of the fishy odor and this worked so well. I dont smell anything at all anymore and I am able to walk past someone or sit next to someone without thinking they can smell it. I pride myself on personal hygiene and with BV no matter how much you wash you cant get rid of the smell, but with this product NO SMELL:)

Works great..... but temporary & expensive.Jan 30, 2009

This product works wonderfully for women who have a problem controlling the natural balance of bacteria and as a result experience odor, discharge or irritation. One pack comes with 4 tampon-like gel filled applicators, each which lasts for 3 days (12 total days for a pack). If you wear tampons, applying the gel is just as easy-- insert, deposit, remove plastic applicator. It totally calms down all the discomforts associated with bacterial imbalance. The problem is that after the application expires, somewhere around the 4th or 5th day all the symptoms will return unless you reapply the gel. Most drug stores sell them for between $16-19 (at least in my region) which can get pretty expensive considering that you'd need two boxes to make the whole month using them consistently. That can average from $33-$40 p/month for 24 calendar days. It would be wonderful if continual usage would improve the longterm vaginal pH over time but this product makes no such claims. So overall it's great while you are using it but pricey with no longterm benefits.

does what it says butJan 15, 2008
By upromise saver I really wanted to like this product.... it keeps the odors out completely but it's a temporary thing ant if you used it constantly it might actually make some improvement in the your condition but it's too expensive. I've found that vaginal vitamin c tablets work wonders, so much better than this product.

Don't use. Loaded with parabens.Sep 11, 2011
By cincin It took me quite awhile to find the ingredients for RepHresh Vaginal Gel. Why is that I wonder? No list on Amazon. None on Walmart. No list on the manufacturers website - why not? Why hide it and make us search for it? I eventually found it on drugstore dot com site. It's loaded with unhealthy parabens that's why. And you are going to stick that in a highly absorbent, rich with blood vessels, place? I don't think so.

Great for prevention of vaginal problems.Sep 09, 2011
By WildMtnChild I love this product! I've had a lifetime problem of frequent urinary tract infections that often require prophylactic antibiotics to prevent. Of course antibiotics lead to yeast infections and treating yeast infections leads to bacterial vaginosis (at least for me). I was CONSTANTLY treating either yeast or BV, and I do mean CONSTANTLY. It really put a serious crimp in my sex life, who wants to have sex with messy creams up there? Even when I had a month without an infection as soon as I would get my period the alkaline environment would tip the pH balance in favor of yet another BV infection. I frequently recommend this product to my patients.
Like yeast, gardnerella are naturally occurring in the vagina but can overgrow if pH is off. I've found that using repHresh gel 2-3 times a month, sometimes more, has solved my problem. One of my biggest triggers for BV was starting my period, now I use the repHresh Brilliant tampons, and together with the gel, it has solved the problem. My regimen now consists of an occasional antibiotic after particularly vigorous sex (likely to cause a UTI for me) and an applicator full of repHresh. I will note that if you have a full blown BV or yeast overgrowth this will not cure it but may make it more comfortable until you can get to the doctor. I use it to keep it from ever getting to that place at all. I've found with a very mild itch or odor I can reverse the issue, but not if it's full blown.
Also of note, you WILL get a clumpy transparent whitish discharge, sometimes quite copious. I've read that this will diminish over time with frequent use but since I don't need to use the product all that often I still notice it. It's not attractive during sex. I can scoop most of it out with my finger but if I'm planning on being intimate I will douche with tap water to get rid of it and use another dose later. In other reviews people mention getting yeast infections after using this product, I wonder if they may be mistaking the repHresh discharge for yeast discharge as they are similar. RepHresh states that their product causes a sloughing of vaginal epithelial cells, and when I've looked at the discharge under a microscope that's all I've seen, no yeast.
Again, this is a great product and I highly recommend it for those who suffer from vacillating yeast/BV infections. Make sure that your current yeast or BV infection has been appropriately treated and then begin using the product to prevent reoccurrence. The gel with the Brilliant tampons have made my vagina much happier.
