1The product was rancid.Jan 15, 2012

I purchased 3 cases of these tortilla chips because they were such a good price. I donated them to the local food bank. Unfortunately soon after I was informed that the chips were rancid. I was told that the sell by date on the bags was Aug 2011. Being a food and not in my possession now I can't return them. I hope amazon reads this and refunds my purchase price. I left a simular message in the packaging comments section.

1out of dateJan 11, 2012

When we opened a bag, EW the smell! Checked the date: Aug 4, 2011. It is now Jan 2012. No wonder they were on clearance, but Amazon should not ship expired products. Amazon did try again, sending a note to the warehouse not to send expired product. No avail. Sent the same gross stuff again. I purchased these before and they were delicious, but not this time around. I'd avoid them for a while until Amazon gets a new shipment.

2Extraordinarily saltySep 21, 2011
By Robert Ward
My biggest complaint about almost any snack food, from potato chips to nuts, is that they don't have enough salt. Que Pasa Queso Picante Tortilla Chips pin the needle the other way. They are so salty, that I can't eat them. I'm gradually using them up as a pulverized thickening agent for soups and chilis and using them instead of salt in these recipes.

3Good but not great. Maybe just not spicy enough for me ;)Sep 18, 2011

The price was right for an impulse buy of a case. I was excited about cheddar and jalapeno with fond memories of Dorito's Fiery Habanero flavor chips... Not so much. I think I am a little jaded with spicy food so what I think is mild most people would consider medium. "If you ain't sweatin', it ain't working" sort of thing. Predominant flavor in order of potence: corn, cheddar, jalapeno. Corn is the most notable flavor, kind of like Fritos I guess. Then cheese with (for me) just a hint of spice. Good, different, not great.
