No Matter what others say about Progresso Red Clam Sauce being watery I and my husband Dean find it to be absolutely perfect. Always available when we lived in New York but hard to find in Albuquerque, New Mexico so we always purchase a case from Amazon for their great price and Progresso's fantastic taste.
We enjoy it with whole wheat pasta and a dash of fresh romano cheese.
We love it!

Progresso Red Clam SauceJul 05, 2010
By Judith L. Shimek For years, I had used Progresso Red Clam Sauce for my base for clam speghetti (I do add some of my own special ingredients) until my local stores discontinued carrying this item. However, I did find I could buy a case through Amazon and they even paid the shipping! What did we do before internet?!

The taste of ChildhoodMar 04, 2010
By CIA CHEF My grandma used to make Linguine and Clam Sauce for me all the time as a child. She was a fan of the white sauce only. I tried mixing this with a can of the white and PRESTO...it's good, trust me. Hit it with a little white wine and fresh herbs, finish it with a tab of butter and enjoy it with some toasted garlic bread. It just works. Oh, and you gotta add another can of clams, ya just gotta.

By Ben Bloom I've always felt that Progresso does an admirable job of making classic soups and sauces available in heat-n-eat versions. Hopefully they can continue to do so under the ownership of General Foods.\
I'm partial to Progresso's white clam sauce, but this red version is pretty decent for those of you who prefer this style. I agree with others who comment on the watery consistency , but hey....most clam sauces ARE watery compared to say a spaghetti sauce or an alfredo. This is a good one for the pantry or cupboard, perfect for a quick but tasty meal.
Jeff's Review Of Red Clam Sauce!Apr 07, 2010
By J. Willis I thought that this product had a savory taste with lots of flavor. I added about a 1/2 cup of red wine for each 10.5 ounce can. Excellent value for the price, without a lot of calories.
