These are a somewhat chewy chocolate flavored protein bar. I am reviewing the Chocolate Deluxe bar, and comments do not apply to other flavors. I found the flavor to be somewhat average, with no significant after taste. It has whey protein as a main ingredient and is sweetened with maltitol which can have a laxitive effect if consumed in execess. Various ingredients are added for vitamin and mineral content. It contains almond butter. It is listed at 180 calories with 20 grams of protein. It contains palm kernal oil, and is listed as having 3 grams of saturated fat.

I have ordered both the Chocolate Deluxe and the Chocolate Peanut Butter through Amazon. These are both good-tasting bars; in fact, the only downside is that I have trouble resisting having the second bar ... But the protein/calorie content is highest I have seen; they are fairly natural even if all protein bars are highly-processed food; the protein is a balanced mix of whey protein and a smaller amount of soy and other sources; they leave you satisfied (true meal replacement).
The recipe has changed recently to being entirely naturally flavored. As of this writing, the graphics on the Amazon listing still show the "naturally and artificially flavored" label from the older packaging, but I received the new ones (naturally flavored). (Again, this is not fresh squeezed carrot juice; protein bars are highly processed and I wouldn't recommend them as a primary food source.) The chocolate deluxe and chocolate peanut butter have slightly different nutritional composition: the PB one has 20 more calories, all coming from extra fat calories and presumably all coming from the extra peanuts.
The 1.75oz and 2.75oz bars have identical recipes (I've ordered both recently). These 1.75oz bars are a lower price / oz and are a more manageable size.

I ordered these to eat as a snack between meals. I exercise a lot, and try to consume moderate amounts of high-protein foods throughout the day. While I'd prefer to eat "real" food, it's not always practical. After reading the many positive reviews of this product, as well as noting the high amount of protein (20g of Whey protein) and low sugar (2g), I placed my order. I'm giving it a 2 star review for the following reasons:
1) Taste: I did not like the taste or texture. The taste is dry and chalky. Granted, it's not that easy to create a protein bar with 20g of whey protein that doesn't taste a bit dry or chalky, in the future I would probably opt for a bar with slightly less protein but better flavor (and moist). There are Atkins bars that are much tastier (more flavorful and moist), but they too contain Maltitol.
2) Contains Maltitol: Since ordering this product, I've done a bit of research on Maltitol, which is the primary sugar alcohol used in these bars. From what I've read, Maltitol seems to be one of the worst sugar alcohols. It has a high glycemic index for a sugar alcohol, and it seems to affect blood sugar levels more than other sugar alcohols. In fact, it doesn't seem to be that much better than regular sugar, so what's the point? So while "technically" the bar may have only 2g of sugar, I don't think you can discount the impact of Maltitol. (If you want to learn more about Maltitol, do a Google search on "Problems with Maltitol".
It seems like most of these chocolate Protein bars and low-carb bars seem to contain Maltitol. I think I will probably stick with shakes like Muscle Milk, which is far from perfect but tastes much better and does not have Maltitol.

I'm diabetic so I look for fun foods with a low carbohydrate value. I found these in a local store to take for lunch on a rockhounding trip and really loved it. I'm glad to find them on Amazon.com. I eat a low carbohydrate diet so the effective 15g of carbohydrate along with the 21g of protein makes it a nice meal on the go. Being a chocolate fan I really like the chocolate taste of these bars. OK. I like it too much!

I love this brand of protein bars, and this seller sells them for the cheapest price online. However, I received them on a hot day, and all of them were completely melted in the bags. I put them in the fridge and they firmed up, but when I opened them, they were crumbling all over the place! I hope the seller offers a temperature controlled shipping method for future purchasers. My next purchase will be from Walmart near my parents home and have them ship them to me.
