Excellent laundry detergent in any washing machineMay 11, 2009

"not lacking in opinions"
On a lark and for a change, I thought I'd give this Planet 2X HE a try (since my favorite of all time is Planet powdered laundry detergent.) The Planet 2X is great! I was happily surprised by what a fine job it did on my stinky outdoor sports clothing (bike, hike, ski, and kayak.) At first I was worried about using it because it says "HE" on the label, meaning it is for the new washing machines that use less water and power. I have a regular washing machine. No worries, though, it has fewer suds than regular detergent but apparently does not need them to clean well. Just follow the directions & use what they say, even though it does not seem like it will be enough, it is. Not only does it clean well, but like powdered Planet, it is great for sensitive skin like mine. No perfumes, dyes, enzymes, optical brighteners etc. I like that Planet products are independently certified to be biodegradable. CR Greener Choices label center says that the claim "biodegradable" doesn't mean much, but Planet's SCS certification of biodegradability is "highly meaningful." So I don't have to try to research it myself. Yay! Gets my "definitely recommended" rating.

If someone could just get the shipping right!Mar 10, 2010
By B. Salgado I really like this detergent and am thrilled it is available for the Subscribe and Save promotion, however, there is a terrible problem with how this and other detergents are shipped. I very rarely receive my shipments the first time out...with that I mean the first shipment is damaged and cannot be delivered for some reason (I am thinking this might be a problem with how the detergent is loaded into the box...possibly by mechanical means, because the tops of the bottles are often cracked which causes leakage which in turn causes the box to be coated in detergent and deemed 'undeliverable'), and I have to call Customer Service @ Amazon to alert them to the problem. A replacement shipment is then sent out, and the majority of the time it arrives. However, often there is detergent dripped down the sides of the bottles and lids are cracked even when the box is undamaged. This is the second Subscribe and Save detergent subscription I have had, and they both have had the same problem. The first subscription I had to cancel because they could not get the problem solved.
Amazon is great about replacing the product promptly, and the product works well. I just wish someone would realize there is a problem with the handling of the bottles during packing. It would save everyone a lot of time and headache. I currently have not received my latest scheduled shipment and will now have to call and see what is going on with my order.

Performance is great!Jun 12, 2010

For about a year or so, I was making my own laundry detergent, but wasn't having much luck. I then decided to return to commercial detergents, but I wanted it to be biodegradable, hypoallergenic and not be tested on animals..and of course, clean well. I tried the 7thGen, but didn't have very good cleaning results. Then I found this brand and haven't looked back. We have a non-HE washer, and use the recommended amount, and our clothes turn out just fine. We also have very hard water, which I think has led to problems with other detergents, but doesn't seem to effect the cleaning ability of this soap. I do have to occasionally re-wash really dirty items (such as heavily stained gardening clothes), but I think that would happen with most detergents. All in all, I'm very satisfied with this.

Great eco-friendly detergent for cloth diapersFeb 16, 2011

I bought this after we started using cloth diapers and I was having a hard time getting them clean. Planet worked great and was safe to use for diapers. I eventually started using it for the rest of my laundry. And the four-pack from Amazon made it comparable to anything I could buy locally.

Love the product, shipping is horribleSep 01, 2010
By Cloth Diaper Mom I love this product, but everytime that I have an order shipped it ends up damaged in shipping and I don't get the order on time, all the bottles have leaked, or the shipment doesn't come at all. I would love to save the money and order from Amazon, but I will be purchasing at my local store in the future.
