4Love this tea!Aug 30, 2006
By Tom Anderson
Until just recently, I had an English boss that got me hooked on English and Irish tea--and I shall be forever grateful! Just about any British tea that I've tried is much better than anything you get off the shelves in our American markets.

PG Tips is England's best-selling tea--and no wonder! Just open the box and take a good whiff. I've not found its match in Lipton, Luzianne (which is usually dead on the vine), or Red Rose--and that's just its unbrewed fragrance! But wait 'till you taste it: a much richer, deeper, stronger flavor than any American supermarket tea. No, PG Tips is not premium tea, but I have yet to find a premium tea that I like better.

Please note: all British tea is stronger than American--probably so that it stands up to the milk that practically all Englishmen take in their tea--so I would recommend you start with one teaspoon of loose tea per 10 oz. of water and let it brew for 3-4 minutes, then adjust the strength from there.

The only thing I don't like about this tea is the small size of the leaves. Unfortunately most of the world now prefers tea bags, which make an insipid, and often bitter, brew. Because that's where the demand is, most tea plantations don't bother with whole leaves anymore. The processing is more labor intensive, and since the leaves will be cut up into doodle dust to fit the bags, why bother? This process yields NO whole leaves, so even the loose tea from non-premium brands like PG Tips is strictly flakes of mutilated leaves. Even so, their loose tea makes better hot or iced tea than their bags.

By all means, buy some PG. And wave good-bye to Lipton!

5Best tea availableNov 04, 2006
By Tony Carter "British Transplant"
This tea is full flavored, robust and very quick steeping. The leaves are very fine requiring a fine mesh tea strainer, but the small size of the leaves is the secret of the flavor and strength of the resulting brew. Use briskly boiling water, warm the teapot, pour the briskly boiling water promptly over the leaves and let steep a few minutes. Use milk if that is to your taste, and sip promptly. Ah delicious! These fine tea leaves make more cups per pound than any other brand I have tried, so it is more economical to use than Lipton's loose leaf tea, and tastes better and brews faster. If you love tea, you cannot go wrong with PG Tips.

Great tea! I use Lipton Loose Tea, 8-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6) most of the time, but it wasn't in stock so I bought this. It's loose tea, but it's not really leaves like the Lipton. It's more like grounds. It makes a very strong tea. I use it for sweet iced tea and use two scoops (have to use 3 scoops of Lipton) and it's delicious over ice. Very highly recommended.

5full bodied teaDec 12, 2007

this is a full-bodied tea that I use in my french press - i usually don't like loose leaf tea because of the tea leaf mess - but a french press prevents the mess and I can't believe I waited so long - this tea is great and is very strong - a little goes a long way

5My life is complete!!Sep 24, 2007
By Stephen Alexander
After moving to the US from England 22 years ago, finding PG Tips tea has been one of my biggest challenges. Now, I no longer have to beg friends and relatives to bring back tea from trips to England, nor do I have to drive 60 miles to find over-priced and beyond-expiration-date loose-leaf tea.
