I bought this after the whole Torani syrup disaster. Torani's Hazelnut tastes like pancake syrup and is just plain awful (I wrote a review about that too). DaVinci was too expensive (though it IS just delicious), so I went with the middle priced one which is Oscar's.
Oscar's definitely does not taste like pancake syrup and has a distinct hazelnut flavor. That said, the hazelnut flavor is faint, not very faint, just faint. It definitely can be tasted, there is no doubt about it, it's just that Oscar's isn't as good as DaVinci.
Would I buy it again? Absolutely. I'd rather have faint than pancakes or empty pockets. I also would recommend this to my friends without missing a beat.
