5Glutamine is one of the supplements that actually does something, and ON makes high-quality productsFeb 09, 2012
By Kynn
Glutamine is the most abundant single amino acid in your body. It plays a key role in muscle growth, and I can't stress its importance enough. Research has shown that lifting weights increases your body's need for glutamine, and if you don't provide enough, it will steal it from skeletal muscle tissue. Supplementing glutamine has also been shown to increase growth hormone levels.

Bottom line: This is a supplement that you should always be taking, and ON makes high-quality products. I've tried cheaper glutamine powders and while I can't with certainty say that ON's is "better" (how do you quantify that, really?), I did notice that ON's mixes better with water and is less chunky. That may or may not have anything to do with quality, but I stick with ON because I know they make good stuff.

5Never used before, very pleasedAug 06, 2011

I don't think I've ever been as surprised by how well a product as I have been with this. I put a teaspoon of this in with my regular protein shake mix after a long lifting session, and was happy to find that the next few days were soreness-free. I had a very slight dull ache on occasion, but nothing compared to what it is without it. And, at a serving size of 1-2 teaspoons, this tub will last a long long time.

5An easy and convenient way to get your daily Glutamine.Jul 31, 2010
By GetGnarly
I have never disliked an Optimum Nutrition product I've tried, and this one is no exception. The 300g package gives you roughly 60 servings (each serving = 1 tsp.) of flavorless glutamine powder that mixes easily and well with every beverage I've tried so far. I usually just put it in my post-workout shakes, and you basically don't even notice it's in there. The only thing I don't like is the smell, because evidently flavorless does not mean scentless. I use ON's flavorless creatine powder as well, and that one smells very slightly of lemon-lime. This stuff, on the other hand, smells oddly reminiscent of Utz sour cream & onion potato chips. I know that's bizarre, and it definitely doesn't taste anything like that, but that's the first thing that comes to mind when I get a whiff of the open container. In any case, if you aren't taking any glutamine, or are considering taking glutamine, this is a great, easy, and economical way to get it.

4Quality ProductMay 14, 2011

I have used a variety of supplements in my life and have found that the different manufacturers produce in widely varying levels of quality. I had recently begun buying from Optimum Nutrition because I had tried and liked their whey protein powder. When I ran out and needed more glutamine I gave ON a try. It is better quality than the crap I was using previously at least as evidenced by the reaction of my body. Glutamine in general helps me to recover more quickly after lifting. This powder dissolves quickly in most liquids and is absorbed fairly easily by my body. I would recommend this to others.

5Excellent product.Nov 16, 2010
By NYC Nomad "mfoto"
I take Glutamine 3x per day along with my health & workout routine. I also use Creatine & BCAA. All combined, I feel healthier & more energetic. I can hit the gym nearly everyday without any problems. It's also so easy to mix with water with absolutely no flavor... which makes drinking Glutamine perfect since there isn't an aftertaste. Will re-order.
