Pretty Good SupplementFeb 13, 2011
By Estacia I've been using this product for about a month, and so far it's been pretty good. I used to use ON's whey protein, but although I loved everything about it at first, eventually it didn't agree with my lactose intolerance so I wanted to try their soy protein. I agree with what some others have said about the taste though. When I first tried it I thought it was horrible, so I would just chug it and try not to taste it. I think I've gotten used to it after a couple of weeks, and now am just glad I'm able to use something that doesn't make me sick.
Overall, I like this product. It's hard to find a soy protein in as big of a size as this comes in, and that packs 25g of protein per serving. After hard weight workouts I think it's had a comparable effect as the whey protein in making my recovery time shorter too. Some negatives: taste most definitely, and for me personally, the 330mg of sodium per serving.
Good protein alternative for someone looking for something non-dairy though.
Yum!Apr 10, 2012
By Stuckenfoo I've never been able to face food in the morning. But I've learned how important it is to have at least 30 grams of protein first thing in the morning, and I feel better when I do. So I've tried a number of protein powders and this is the best tasting one. I put it in a smoothie with some other supplements and oats, yogurt, fruit and V8 fruit/veggie juice (so I get my veggies, too. Be careful tho' - - some V8 juices are mostly corn syrup). I'm now addicted to my morning smoothie! When I travel I take this protein powder and some other powdered supplements with me in individual serving baggies. Most hotels have juice and yogurt so I can still have my smoothie. Love this stuff!
Best Protein Shake Ever!Apr 06, 2012
By Turiyananda Ignore the naysayers. Ive tried the rest, this is the best. For the first time in ages, my wife and i are losing weight. Its all because of the tasty shakes my wife makes with THIS soy protein powder. This is first-class stuff. Buy it and try it before you make your decision. Every other protein powder ive tried tastes worse than this one AND did not deliver the protein "ummff" i was looking for and needing. but im getting it with the Optimum stuff!
Oh, flavor-wise, the vanilla is surprisingly good. But the chocolate is like going to an ice cream parlor -- out of this world. if youre on a diet, then you know how important good tasting dessert-substitutes are. well this product has met and exceeded our expectations, and we are OFF the junk food! yeah!
I'm liking this stuff.Nov 22, 2011
By W. Buchanan So, I 've now been using this soy protein powder for about 3 months and really enjoy it. I had tried the whey protein quite some time ago and it put me completely off of protein powders. But, the Soy protein powder has been shown to decrease triglycerides somewhat so decided to give this a try. I was somewhat worried secondary to the reviews that said the taste wasn't so great, and the clumping. Much to my pleasant surprise, the Vanilla has a great flavor, and I add a dozen or so frozen blueberries to the mix. I am not vegan, so I add a few ounces of milk instead of water and a few ice cubes, then blend in a power blender. Can you say awesome blueberry shake? I will have this for a healthy desert instead of ice cream! The only downside for me is the addition of splenda. I would prefer not to have it, but to me the advantages of this protein powder outweigh the negative.
Awesome Protein!Oct 03, 2011
By Dan I've been using this protein for about a month and love it. The taste is great. I mix it with frozen strawberries and it adds an extra flavor. I've tried all kinds of proteins, and it I find this one to be among the top 3 that I've tried. The price and quality surpass many of the other protein powders out in the market
