I don't know why I like this stuff. I don't usually eat soup, and I have never asked for lentil soup in particular. But for some unknown reason, I once grabbed one of these at the grocery store and it was good. Nile Spice deserves a lot of credit for making something I will eat which does not involve cheese or sugar.

Vegan. Natural. Low calorie. Low fat. Thick & hearty for an instant soup. Great lentil veggie taste. Easy, lightweight take-along for anywhere you can get or make hot water. I love vegan soups. An instant soup along with a few pieces of crispbread in a ziplock bag makes a great lunch. Instant soups are also a great flavor maker for your own soup creations. Try using one cup of instant soup as a flavorful broth or base to add with beans and/or your favorite fresh veggies. Use your imagination and enjoy. Easy and fun. Prepare the instant soup and then add to the simmering or pre-cooked bigger pot containing the other ingredients. Heat together, stir, and serve. 170 calories, 11g protein, and 540mg sodium per cup. When preparing the cup of soup, it is important to let it stand re-covered as recommended for 5+ minutes and stir well. Verified all vegan ingredients including the 'natural flavors' with Nile Spice Consumer Affairs on 2009-01-29. [Inquired about all their instant soups as to which were vegan.] Also really like Nile Spice Minestrone Soup, Low Fat, 1.5-Ounce Cups (Pack of 12). These are healthy and convenient soup-in-a-cups. Add hot water, stir, and wait five minutes. You get a tasty cup of soup for a good price. You get a good variety of spices, compared to other "soup-in-a-cup" products.
