They simply work.Nov 30, 2007
By The Mighty Xtingu I travel for a living, and schlepping my skin-care products through TSA security lines can be a hassle. Enter the Neutrogena Make-Up Remover Towelettes!
In a nutshell: These things simply work. They're pre-moistened so you don't need water, and they take off your makeup in one shot-- waterproof mascara and eternal-wear lipstick, too. No scrubbing, no irritation; only happy, soft skin.
Best of all: These contain moisturizers so your skin isn't all tight, but they don't leave your skin feeling like an Exxon Valdez victim either.
This specific product is the refill pack, which would (hypothetically) be placed into a plastic blue vanity box in your bathroom... though, for my purposes, tossing this resealable pack into my suitcase is just fine.

Gets everything offFeb 16, 2007

I haven't tried many make-up removers before, I usually just go with soap and water. These weren't too bad. They removed all my make-up, including mascara and eyeliner. I didn't get that raccoon look that you usually get when you try to remove mascara, which was great.
The packs are resealable which is nice, it keeps the towelettes moist. The thing I didn't like about them was as another reviewer remarked, they do leave a slight film on your face. An almost greasy feeling. Also, if I got any of it in my eyes, they would slightly burn.
I always did a thorough rinse with water after using them, which took the residue off, but the fact that it left the residue (and slightly irritated my eyes), is what made me give this product 3 stars.

My new favorites; move along AlmayDec 21, 2010
By Just Me in MI I've used the Almay makeup remover pads (the ones in the small round container) for years. And they have slowly gotten more expensive. So for awhile I switched to gauze pads and an eye-makeup remover solution. Eh - it worked, but I didn't love it like I did the Almay pads. Then, I stumbled across the Neutrogena makeup remover cleansing towelettes. I'm hooked. They are big enough that you can wash your entire face with them and still have a section available to take off your eye makeup (waterproof liner and mascara!) They have a wonderful lavender smell. (I suppose if you don't like lavender you may not like these.) I gave one to my daughter one night because I wanted her to try a new eyeliner, and she came back later and said, "can I have some of those for Christmas?" I will admit they are not cheap. But, the 2 pack of 25 means it lasts me 2 months (there are usually at least a couple days I go without makeup), and I get them on the Subscribe & Save, so it's an even better deal. I like how soft these leave my face, without that sticky or greasy feeling many of the other facial cleaners have. I keep these sitting in my basket next to the couch, take off my makeup as I am finishing up work emails for the night, then rinse my face with water when I go to bed. Great item - very happy I found it.

Convenient but dryingJul 23, 2011

These are very handy, and seem to take off the majority of my makeup, but not all. If you have normal to oily skin they are probably great. My skin is more on the dry side, and I found that after I used these for a few days my skin became even more dry and it began to sting when I used them. Now I keep them for airplane travel or camping, but I wouldn't use them on a daily basis with dry skin.

Probably ok, just not for meJan 20, 2007

I don't want to give this product a bad review simply because I have very fickle skin, and while this product didn't work for me, it may work very well for others. It does an adequate job removing makeup, however, I did find it didn't always completely remove mascara (regular mascara -I don't wear water-proof). I also didn't care for the 'film' it left on my face. Every time I used it, I ended up washing my face lightly with Cetaphil afterwards because I just couldn't leave it, even though the package says there's no need to rinse your face. It also tends to make my eyes goopey feeling - like there's something in them - reminds me of the old days when you used Vaseline to remove eye makeup. Fogged up my eyes everytime! I have to stick with "oil free" products, and this clearly is not oil free. I should have known this, but badly wanted this product to work for me!
So, after writing this, I have to say, don't take my word for it. I highly recommend Neutrogena products - I just can't recommend this one because of the above reasons.
