I love steel cut oats. I make them in a small crockery slow cooker overnight and they are ready when I get up. You get the small, approximately 1 quart size cooker. Grease the interior. Add 2 + cups of water, pinch of salt, cinnamon to taste and 1 cup of steel cut oats. Stir. Plug in overnight. The next AM stir in raisins (don't do it overnight or they dissolve!). Serve with walnuts on top, milk, and sweeten if desired, for a nutritious breakfast that will carry you through the day.
I find this makes 2-3 servings. You can increase the oats to 1 1/3 cups and add more water and get 4 servings. You can reheat leftovers in microwave, slice and fry in butter or oil, or eat cold.

I did considerable research before deciding on this brand. Much better value for the price and amount on nutritional value. Even thought steel cut oats take longer to prepare, it is well worth the wait due to the benefits. Great taste and great nutrition at a great price!!!

NOW Foods Oats Steel Cut, 32 Ounce Bags (Pack of 8) I am so thrilled with this product! It not only is the steel cut genuine article...but it cooks faster than the other same-type oats. So I add little more water than recipe calls for and cook it a little longer and it is creamy and delicious. It is my favorite hot breakfast cereal of all.

If you love steel cut oats and don't want to
spend a lot of money, then order up. Eight bags
are a little hard to store, but for the price
I'll do what I have to. Great value and good
oats.
