The Best!Mar 14, 2012
By Sunny South I have been using Muir Glen Fire Roasted Tomatoes for more than 3 years. They are the best canned tomatoes on the market. They have a clean, smooth, non acidic taste that can be eaten right out of the can. I use them for salsa, chili, pizza or any receipe that needs tomatoes. Would recommend 100%.

Wonderful flavor--just wish they packaged it differently.Jan 28, 2010
By D. P. Taylor There is no comparison in flavor between regular canned tomatoes and these fire-roasted--excellent heated up by themselves or added to any dish! The Amazon price was about 1/3 cheaper than buying it in my local grocery store, a nice savings. They are gluten free which is important to me. I contacted Muir Glen regarding the use of BPA in the cans and their response was it is FDA-approved (now that makes me feel so much better.......NOT!). My hope is that they will consider changing their packaging to either tetra paks or glass (like some of their other products) and then I would feel better about consuming this item.
As others have mentioned some of the cans came dented. I checked online and unless the seal at the top/bottom of the can is jeopardized they ARE safe to eat. Amazon needs to better package these for shipment.
Cook's Illustrated favorite canned tomato and now mineJul 28, 2009

I've generally avoided red sauces and anything with canned tomatoes, but Cook's Illustrated's recipe for almost-fresh pasta sauce made with these (or any Muir Glen tomatoes) has changed me for life. I'm also buying organic whenever I can, so now I've started experimenting with other tomato recipes using these and am loving them. My friends and family laugh at me when I do "subscribe and save" and buy a case at a time, but it's a great bargain and there's always a can (or more) on the basement shelf.

I have to say these are my favorite. Please keep these available because this is the only place within 95 miles for me to get them by the case. Thank You.
Wonderful TomatoesJun 17, 2008
By Robert A. Robinson I have used these tomatoes in sauces and as the base for tomato soup and they provide wonderful flavor. My only disappointment was that when the package arrived, the flat of cans was wrapped in plastic and placed in another box but still each of the 12 cans was dented. I would not have purchased those cans in a supermarket because of their condition.
