Best. Detergent. EVER.Nov 18, 2010
By Amy MacLeod My partner & I have used natural laundry detergents for as long as I can remember, usually Seventh Generation & occasionally Ecover. It was only a year ago that we decided to give Mrs. Meyer's laundry detergent a try because we love Mrs. Meyer's hand soap and lotion. I wish we'd been using it all along!! At first, I cringed at the price of the 6-pack, because it seemed like so much to spend on laundry detergent, and for "only" 6 bottles. Well, It is now almost exactly a year after I made that purchase, and we are just now down to under half a bottle of the last bottle.
We wash all of our clothes & linens in Mrs. Meyer's, which hasn't given my partner's EXTREMELY sensitive skin any problems. My delicates have survived just fine, and our stinkiest clothes came out of the wash smelling fresh and clean (we have 3 male goats that we spend a lot of time with because we're training them to be pack goats... They weren't "fixed" until the end of the summer, and unneutered male goats produce an odor that rivals skunk! Another wonderful thing about goats, they LOVE to rub on you, and yet Mrs. Meyer's took care of the smell like it was nothing)!
And you can't beat the price. After I did the math, I realized we used to spend literally twice as much on detergent. This was the most effective & economically sensible laundry detergent purchase I've ever made.

Great product, mostly natural, becoming hard to find in storesJun 06, 2010

I've used this product for a couple years now and love it. When used properly in my HE washing machine, it does a great job and leaves a light scent. As with most cleaning products, I only use about half of the recommended amount, so for a full load I only use half a cap. If you have kids or get really dirty at work or in the yard you may need to use slightly more, but in that case I usually just switch to warm water and everything seems to come out clean. A few points I'd like to make, with respect to some of the other reviews:
(1) If you use only half the recommended amount, in combination with an unscented fabric softener, you don't get the overpowering scent left behind. Mrs. Meyers knows she uses powerful scents, and even mentions that on her website. But you can use half a cap for a full load and not only get your clothes clean, but reduce the perfumey smell. And besides, have you ever smelled Tide's Fresh Mountain Bubbling Brook (or whatever it's called)? I've never smelled ANYTHING near, on, or around a mountain that smells like that!
(2) Mrs. Meyers does not claim to be ALL natural and she is not employing deceptive labeling. Her products are MOSTLY natural, and on her website she discloses everything. As other mainstream detergents are changing their composition, I don't know that Mrs. Meyers is any more natural than Tide, but she definitely states clearly on her website that a minimal amount of non-natural ingredients are used, and fragrance happens to be one of them.
In general, of all the more natural products I've used, I keep coming back to Mrs. Meyers. They do the best job, are reasonably affordable, and there are a variety of scents to choose from.

caused skin breakoutsDec 05, 2010
By C. Whitney This product caused two people in our family of four to breakout in a rash. If you have sensitive skin I wouldn't suggest this product. Although, one reviewer with sensitive skin said they liked it. Just giving you a heads up before you buy the pack of six (maybe try one to start) and then find out it doesn't work for you. Also, I did notice a faint weird (almost like vomit) smell in my clothes after washing and putting away in my drawer. Strange stuff? Not sure if it's as natural as claimed.

Artificial Fragrances!Jun 01, 2010
By C. hunt

I bought Mrs Meyers products thinking that they were all natural. After using them I became suspicious because I had an allergic reaction (I am very sensitive to artificial fragrances). I contacted customer service and they told me they do in fact use synthetic fragrances and they don't list them on the label. This is deceptive labeling and goes against everything they claim to be: natural and green. People have no idea what they are getting. Buyer beware.

Good turned badOct 24, 2010
By E. L. Spruill I really liked the smell right after washing, but then after a while, the smell turned a bit musty. At first I thought maybe it was a material problem. Unfortunately, cotton, polyester, rayon, all clothes that I washed and folded last week have that same musty odor. For reference, I wash, dry immediately, then fold and store the clothes in a well ventilated, dry closet.
