These are the best potato chips I have ever tasted. And I'm not a potato chip person.
These chips are super crispy, taste great and, best of all: they use sea salt for seasoning, which, unlike sodium, is actually good for you!
This product is made by FritoLay and, for some reason, they never advertised it properly. So now, the large economy bags are no longer made and you can only buy these small bags at places like Quizno's and Subway. Unfortunately, they usually only have the flavored ones available at these places. And, although the flavored ones are also crispy and taste good too, most all of them have undesirable additional ingredients like MSG - in plain sight, or in hidden form "Autolysed Yeast Extract", "Yeast extract", "Natural Flavor", etc. There are many pseudonyms for MSG, many ways to hide it legally. There are entire books written on the subject!
So, I was real happy to see this product available through Amazon.com. And at a reasonable price, too! If you are into potato chips, I highly recommend you try this one!
Update: 11/11/09 - I have had to update my previous glowing review. The chips I received in this order are the ones made in Canada and there is a definite difference in the texture and taste of these chips. Much less crisp, mealier mouth feel. This also affects the taste, as do the not-so-occasional overcooked chips in each bag. Also, the sell-by date is about 2-3 weeks from when I got them. Not cool... The US made chips are waaaay better. By a very long shot! I used to rate these 5 out of 5, now they're down to 2 stars.

These are the best potato chips I've ever tasted. Normally I wouldn't bother with these small sized bags but these are sooooo good that I will gladly make an exception. They are perfectly crunchy and perfectly salted.... did I happen to mention they are *perfect*?
Spendy, and hard to find at times but worth it. Highly recommended!!!

By Rick G. Muench If you like a plain kettle chip, these are excellent. Very crispy with just the right amount of salt.
A Chip Lover's Chip!Oct 24, 2009
By punkypoptart Re: "Original Recipe Simply Sea Salt" (I'm a potato chip purist.)
These chips are pretty incredible -- fresh tasting, not greasy (but not dry like baked chips), just salty enough to enhance the flavor, wonderfully crisp, and never a burnt or even slightly overcooked chip.
I'm a big fan of folded chips...you know, the ones that curl and fold over while frying, so that when you eat one you get a double dose of chip. There is an abundance of those in every bag -- I love that!
I find Miss Vickie's to be better than certain handmade "boutique" brands I've special ordered.
Frito-Lay manufactures Miss Vickie's and prints a nice homey story on each bag describing the family farm where she started making potato chips over 20 years ago. I did a quick search on the Internet and found that there really is a Miss Vickie with a farm in Ontario, Canada.
Other Reviewers have mentioned having difficulty finding Miss Vickie's chips here in the USA. It seems they are primarily distributed in Canada. Fortunately, Amazon.com will deliver them right to my door.
Warning: My Amazon.com order was placed Oct 13th and delivered Oct 16th -- but the potato chip bags reflect a Sell By date of Oct 20th. Technically, the product was sold by the Sell By date, but I feel a little rushed to finish all 64 bags before the chips go stale. (A good excuse to eat more chips, I suppose.) . . JULY 2010 UPDATE: My most recent purchase of Miss Vickie's (via Amazon's "Subscribe & Save" feature) had a Sell By date over 2 months in the future. So, I happily saved money and we have plenty of time to enjoy our chips while they're still fresh.
