Description:

Organic instant soup mix. Natural and instant. Gluten free. Freeze-dried instant Just add hot water. Delicious soup in seconds. USDA Organic. Certified organic by QAI, USA. Vegan. To make Organic Miso-Cup, our miso craftsmen age certified organic soybeans and organic rice with a special starter culture. Sea salt is used to regulate this natural aging process. Next, we freeze-dry the fresh unpasteurized organic miso ti retain its maximum benefits. We add select natural ingredients including organic tofu (another great soy food) to make Organic Miso-Cup complete. Much like yogurt, miso is considered to be a living food, That is why Edward & Sons takes extra care to use costly freeze-drying methods which maintain, as much as possible, the naturally occurring living cultures for which fresh miso is prized. Miso-Cup boasts a rich, satisfying flavor which may replace meat or poultry as the foundation for soup, stews, or gravies. Since Miso-Cup is a vegetarian soy food, it is totally free from cholesterol and saturated fats and is a source of isoflavones. Product of China.

2Odd tasting miso soup...Oct 26, 2006
By Dr. Laurent Demailly
I had bought instant miso soup in the past and the taste was very similar with what you get at your usual sushi restaurant... so I ordered this one and... I shouldn't have ordered without trying because the taste is very strange... not pleasant... now we're stuck with 12x4 of something we don't like... hopefully someone else can avoid our mistake...

5Nice cheap healthy soup no MSG VeganNov 18, 2010
By B. Hood "BH"
DELICIOUS!!!! If you're vegan/vegetarian, have allergies to seafood, don't like to have MSG in your food, this Miso soup is perfect. I'm not vegan or vegetarian, but I like to avoid MSG when possible. And this is the only way to order it, in bulk. When bought at the store for one box of four packets is over 5$. Sometimes I add some extra miso to it. I love all miso soups, red, white, doesn't matter. But I love this one. I also add a little handful of dried wakame to it. Don't understand some of the bad reviews :/ Everyone I've made this for thinks it's great

4Miso CupJan 16, 2012
By L. A.
I have tried miso soup at many different restaurants. This miso cup is actually pretty good for waht it is. They come four individual servings to a box. Easy to prepare, just add hot (6-8oz) water and stir. For 35 calories, this makes a nice snack. I will continue to buy. With subscribe and save, this is much cheaper than buying it by the single box at the store.

2This is honestly pretty bad...Sep 26, 2011
By Katie
I assumed that everyone complaining was just being picky or unreasonable -- I've bought cheap miso soup packets from Trader Joes that were just fine. This was good value (or so it seemed) and lower sodium than most other packets I was looking at, so I bought it. However, it is actually awful. Really. The taste is poor, the texture is poor, it's just bad. At least it's organically bad?
Subscription cancelled. An expensive mistake in retrospect.

3Good flavor, small packetsOct 07, 2009
By William R. Swanson
Each packet makes about 3/4 cup of soup, which is smaller than I expected. The miso itself is white, rather than the brown shown on the packaging. The miso has a decent flavor, though. I'm more disappointed with the other elements of the soup, such as the tofu and seaweed. The soup doesn't contain very many of these extras, and the items that are there are chopped into pieces that are too tiny to really taste.
