WONDERFUL BUTTER - PRICED TOOOOOOO HIGH!Jul 01, 2010

We bought this butter at an Ohio grocery for $5.+ per 8 oz package. The price Amazon is charging for this is way too high. I would love to order it in bulk from Amazon---IF they would charge reasonable pricing for it.

This Meyenberg goat butter has been my newfound staple for over a year now. I tried it on a whim from Harris Teeter and later on my local Whole Foods started stocking it too. It is a wonderful complement to good bread as well as cheese. I find goat butter packs more flavor than cow's butter, so I find myself I use less of it than cow's milk butter.
I have not tried many other brands of goat butter, but compared to the other few I've tried, this Meyenberg wins easily both on flavor and price. Other brands also tend to package their butters in half size packages. So, this 8oz stick is a great deal.
Now, most of the reviews here complain of high price. Sure, you'd pay more to have this six pack delivered to you via expedited mail. On the other hand, this price includes free expedited shipping, it is a perishable item, mind you, so shipping adds to the price. For someone who can't get it from a local supermarket, I still think this is a good deal. I think people often do not realize that the free shipping is not actually free and is included in the price as in this case.

Delicious butter!!!! We only consume goat produts and this butter is by far delicious. I made some almond cookies that turned out beautiful and delicious. I highly recommended it. I think the price is high and that why I gave 4 stars.

I buy this at Farmer Joe's Market in Oakland, Ca for about $5 a package (8 oz.) so yes, Amazon is way overpriced on it.
