Awesome fake ground beefJun 28, 2006
By Jason This acts a lot like fake ground beef. It's better than some fake taco-beef dry mixes out there because it doesn't have any of its own spices. So I can put it in marinara sauce or tacos. Most often, I make chili with it. It's low in fat and high in protein, so it works out great with my workout diet. It's moist in the can, so it's ready to cook with right away.

Since giving up meat, this is a must have for me. It's the best ground beef substitute I've found and I'm so excited to have found it online! It's not dry, chewy, or pre-seasoned.

Add this with the linkettes and your family can enjoy a hotdog with chili that is healthy and as good as any. To make the chili I add olive oil, onion and ketchup. You really need to add oil to this in any kind of frying pan situation to keep it from sticking. The only downfall here is it looks a little like cheap canned dog food but once it's out of the can the appeal surfaces.

Vege-BurgerOct 19, 2007

My husband is an extremely picky carnivore and will not eat other vege-burger products. This one he hardly even notices, the texture is only slightly different than ground beef, other than that it could pass for the real thing easy. It takes seasoning well and is completely interchangeable for ground beef in casseroles, for tacos, chili, etc. It does not mold into hamburger patties though. We have been extremely happy with the product. I've even used it in my slow cooker and it held up nicely.
