The product is exactly as described and you get lots of it. I have gifted some to friends. I use Herbes de Provence for a lot of cooking ( I even put it in bread). I highly recommend this.
The best herbes de provenceMar 13, 2011
By David Lence I have been seeking the best supplier of herbes de provence. Voila Lizzie's Kitchen appears. I have tried others but they do not supply lavender, a key ingredient in herbes de provence. Lizzie's does and the result is spectacular. I always use this in soups, vegetables and salads. For those seeking the best herbes de provence, I wholeheartedly recommend Lizzie's Kitchen. Try it. It will surprise you.
Thank you Lizzie!
Not as advertised. DisappointedMar 05, 2011
By DMBuyer Disappointed. Expected classic Herbes de Provence - Chervil, Basil, Rosemary, Tarragon, Garlic, Lavender, Marjoram, Savory, Thyme and Parsley. Did not welcome the salt, onions, oregano and pepper.
From the Product Description on Amazon dot com: Lizzie's kitchen herbes de provence seasoning, 1.90-ounce plastic jars (pack of 4) is a mixture from Provence an region of France, containing rosemary, marjoram, basil, bay leaf, savory, thyme, and sometimes lavender flowers and other herbs.
From the label on what was sent to me: Garlic, Thyme, Basil, Salt, Bay Leaf, Onions, Oregano, Rosemary, Lavender, Black Pepper, Spices.
Where is the Marjoram, and Savory? And Onions? Salt? Black Pepper?
So the product sent WAS NOT the product described.
I agree with G. O'SHEA's discussion, who said that Herbes de Provence is "not an Italian seasoning. As the French name implies its a French seasoning. They share some of the same herbs BUT the mix is very different. Have an Italian friend show you the difference. "
Disappointed and cannot return this. Won't buy from Lizzie's Kitchen again.
Provence Herbs from Lizzie's KitchenJan 03, 2011
By Olympic Skier I use many Provence herbs in my cooking and this one in particular is excellent for the reason that its flavors appears more saturated than others and the fact that it does not contain any ingredients that are seed-like which can be problematic for enjoying some foods. The product was originally given to me as a gift and I purchased more directly from the Lizzie's Kitchen website. Excellent in all respects.
