Love these, when they are fresh.Sep 14, 2009
By Valerie Davis I came back to see if these were still available. I ordered a case in 2008 after finding them down in Texas and falling in love with them. The packages that I received were expired by a month. I thought that was kind of crappy, BUT I ate them and gave them away to friends just the same. They are the most awesome cookie/pastry/cracker, don't know what to call them but they are GOOD! Not healthy at all, but when you're reaching for some good dessert items, who cares!! : )

More! Please, More!Aug 22, 2009
Wouldn't you know? I come to order more and have to sign and wait. More? More? I haven't eaten enough? I haven't tempted friends and neighbors enough with these delicious pastries?
Speaking of which, although we may eat them like cookies, they are pastries. Very, very crumbly. Not very sweet, just a touch of sugar (one friend told me his daughter added raspberry jam); and this lack of cookie-sweetness is part of what makes these such good eating. Did I mention they are crumbly? Layers of light, flaky pastry can and should be crumbly.
Everyone who has tried these has loved them, mostly without jam. 'Course, when you think of it, many pastries, Napoleons come to mind, do use jam, don't they? Well, do what you like; but hold them over your plate and stop brushing your shirt onto the carpet.
Did I mention they are crumbly? But oh, so worth it!
