Authentic and freshAug 20, 2010

Recently back from Rome where we kept artisanal tarallini around for snacking. Got them at Roscioli's bakery where we paid plenty (more than this) for a package about the same size. When we got back and ran out of the fancy "foodie" ones from arguably Rome's premier bakery we tried out this brand from Amazon.
On the plus side: they are terrific, fresh and as good as you get in Italy. On the down side, the packaging is fragile (that's authentic enough) and you may experience some issues with the way Amazon packs and ships them. We got one shipment where three of the four bags had ripped open (no padding at all) and damaged a fair amount of the contents. Amazon never replied to the complaint we filed on this issue either. On another shipment they took two weeks past the delivery date to recognize the shipment went astray and needed to be re-delivered. But these are in effect quibbles with Amazon's warehousing or with the reseller. The product itself is an A+ and a lot cheaper than a plane ticket to Italy. Enjoy.
