5Makes you feel like a kid again.Aug 31, 2011

Growing up in the 60's, we drank a lot of Kool-Aid. I mean a LOT of Kool-Aid. As I grew up, it sort of fell off my radar and I turned to carbonated stuff like Sierra Mist, and Diet Rite Cola, both of which I still love, but carting those drinks home from the grocery store gets tedious. I order these grape packets in bulk, and it keeps us well stocked with something cold and delicious to drink, but no cans or bottles to deal with.

5It's what I drinkSep 07, 2009

OK, maybe sad, but I drink a lot of this stuff. Maybe it has something to do with Jonestown, dunno, but I only add Splenda . More accurately, I add 12 packets of splenda to 1 packet of koolaid in a gallon jug. It isn't strongly flavored, but it is enough for me and has no calories.

Mysterious Michelle corrects me via comment that the fine people of Jonestown preferred Flavor Aid. Sorry, no Amazon product link, probably because (as I write this) I can at best "sign up to be notified when item becomes available."

--cheers!

4tastes like childhoodFeb 12, 2012

This flavor reminds me so much of my childhood. I didn't want to give this fewer than 4 stars because I still like it so much, but I wish it came in the invisible line. I don't need the color and it is just one more fake thing. But I love the flavor enough to put up with its being artificial and I sweeten it with stevia. I hardly ever drink diet soda now and this is one of my splurges.

1Horrible aftertasteSep 28, 2011

I'd Ordered 7 different flavors in bulk. Most of them have been fine - the pineapple has actually been fantastic - I'll have to order more. : )

The grape tastes good going down, but about 10 minutes after drinking, I start to get a horrible taste in my mouth, and nothing I do can get rid of it. After reading some other boards, I came across a number of other people also talking about it, and the consensus (non-scientific) is that some component is getting absorbed into the bloodstream, and we're basically tasting it from the inside. Which I take with a very disturbed grain of salt, but would explain why I can't get the taste out of my mouth for hours afterwords.

Given that I bought this as a tasty diet drink, I'm going to be junking it. Regardless of the science, I really don't need a diet drink that encourages me to put other things in my mouth to get rid of the taste . . . . : P
