too oilyMay 27, 2008

I love the non-dessert items from Kitchens of India, but this dessert was not nearly as good. It was very oily and greasy yet also mushy and grainy. The flavor also tasted a bit fake--like plastic or something synthetic.

Great taste of saffron, although it's a bit on the oily sideOct 08, 2009

This product is teeming with saffron flavor. People who value saffron will love this mung dal halwa. I wish they would use ghee instead of vegetable oil.

Oily, yet tastefulMar 08, 2009
By Sidd I liked it because it had true authentic taste, although it was too greasy, you can see oil all over the bowl after 1 minute. But overall taste was good and would love to buy again.
excellent versionNov 01, 2008
By Quick Smart This desert will make your tongue stand up and say HI! It is different than anything western, but wonderful to the palate. You must have an open mind and enjoy well seasoned food, as much on Indian food is, and you'll be rewarded with desert so good, you're tempted to save it for special occasions. But you may enjoy it as part of your regular diet since all the work has been done for you.
