This is a delicious meal. Well, I eat it as a meal. It, of course can be eaten as a side dish. It has two types of greens and a bit of a "bite!" You might want to put some sour cream or plain yogurt on the side. :) I will always buy this as I'm too inept and lazy to prepare the recipe myself. lol

Jyoti Natural Foods Delhi Saag, Spinach and Mustart Greens, 15-Ounce Cans (Pack of 12) Tastes a good deal like spicy creamed spinach. Also good mixed in meat loaf, provides both nutrition and moisture. Will keep buying. Sale price made this a tremendous bargain.

TLDR: Its so good that its almost addictive. Stay away or get addicted for life.
So I am a sucker for Saag. Its my favorite food in the universe (yes for me, it even beats medium cooked steak). Unfortunately in Seattle I have had a lot of trouble finding it. Its available very rarely in some seasons.
I stumbled upon these on amazon and ordered 12 cans that arrived in two days. Here is how I made it 1.) Heated oil 2.) Fried pieces of garlic, ginger and chopped green pepper. 3.) Added red chilli pepper 4.) Added one can and let it cook for 5 minutes.
And the result is nothing short of phenomenal. The taste was so amazing that I had tears of joy. I cannot stop thinking about it and cannot stop eating. I am hooked!
All I need to do is to figure out how to order enough to last me for a lifetime.

Superb!Apr 15, 2011

You may well wonder why I gave this only 3 stars when I love it so. I could eat the whole can all by myself. I would also love it on some kid of pasta - or how about ravioli? It would be perfect over rice. Or over chicken thighs. It has a perfect blend of mild Indian spices.
It has a fatal flaw that makes me limit my intake: It is way too salty. This is not just my imagination. The whole can would have over 2,000 mg of sodium. Because of that I ration my intake.
If the manufacturer reads this, perhaps they can cut back on the salt by about 40% I imagine it would be just as good.
Also, I don't know if this is a storage problem or not, but the cans look as if they either are old or have been stored in a damp place.

Vegan friendly!Apr 11, 2008
By Vegan Eater Yummy, couldn't-be-easier, vegan Indian food. I put some croutons on top for a little crunch.
