This product is Super!
Starting a fire in our wood burning stove is simple and safe. No need for newspapers or mounds of kindling again.
I stack the inch and bigger pieces in the form of a log cabin (crisscross) and put the Ignite-o at the bottom. It recommends 2 packets but I have always used only one. Not a problem.
One match and that is all it takes. No more worries about paper going up the chimney and lighting it on fire. It is quick, convenient, safe, and the price cannot be beat.
Highly recommend.

These are a fantastic find. Really light up quickly and easily, great flame, stay lit for 5-10 minutes and lightweight, which is important if you are backpacking. Love ignite-o!

Great for starting wood fires in the back yard firepit or fireplace!May 08, 2009

I got a few of these as a free sample when I purchased a Creosote Sweeping Log to burn in my fireplace. Being the end of the fireplace season, I didn't get to use them indoors, but have had great luck with them in the firepit out back. Put one of these under a decenly well built stack of wood, and you should have a strong fire in no time. I don't know what's actually in these, but it seems to be some kind of solid fuel that burns easily, but somewhat slow. You get a good strong flames from it, and it probably lasts 5-10 minutes before the firestarter packet is all burned up. By then, the wood is well on it's way.
Oh, and they are very easy to light too, just take a match or lighter to the plastic around the edge of the packet, and it fires right up.

I light up about a 3 inch dry piece of wood with these (the wood is dry) these work soo well there amazing defiantly worth the money
