 Great taste but concerned about qualityAug 18, 2010

I'm a Hot Tamales lover and was glad to find a source for the "Fire" version online. My concern however was that the outer boxes in the package that I received had the candies stuck together (partially melted together) as if the package had been overheated in storage. I've never encountered this with boxes purchased in a store. I gave it the review 3 stars because of this quality concern otherwise it would have been 5 stars.

I have not been able to find these in the stores anymore and as they are my FAVORITE, I was pleased to see them available on Amazon with very reasonable shipping. The candy came promptly and was very fresh, unlike many stores when it was available.

I order these by the case because I live in Florida and the nearest place that sells "Fire" is in Atlanta. I love this product and will continue to purchase but I must admit there is a lack of consistency in quality. I obviously purchase by the case and as mentioned in other reviews, some boxes are not as hot as others and the taste/texture varies from box to box(even within the same case). Not so much of a difference that I wouldn't purchase again(I love 'em!!). I like that they are the "Big Box" and I get a lot more per/box than I can get at the local store. Great product!!!"

I remember when years ago bought the predecessor version Super Hot Tamales and thought they were great. Now called Hot Tamales Fire, they are a bit hotter than regular but not as hot as I remember. Plus, buying 12 boxes at a shot has killed my love for them, I've ODd on Tamales! They are good and spicey but hard to find, thank you Amazon for carrying them!

I had thoughts of this Hot Tamales variety being hotter then what they where. Honestly they are a bit hotter then the regular version but they hardly deserve the name FIRE.
