I understand that people are disappointed in the product, but there is no reason to give this a one star review. I carry this in my store and it is a hit with the customers - even Hot Tamales fans like myself. I agree that it isn't initially what you would expect from something titled "Hot Tamales cotton candy", it isn't spicy and has only a faint cinnamon flavor.
However, I love it for that reason. We carry the Mike & Ike cotton candy as well as the traditional circus colors and the stars and stripes kind. The Hot Tamales cotton candy is great because it is a break from the fruity flavors. I can taste the cinnamon, though very faint, but I love it! And so do our customers, we sell a lot of it.
The one star reviews are ridiculous. As long as you know that it isn't a strong cinnamon flavor, what is there to complain about? The cotton candy is fresh, super fluffy and tastes great. Perhaps there is a flaw in the advertising, they should state that the flavor is not overpowering, but if you strip away the Hot Tamales brand and don't give anyone preconceived notions of what the exact taste is, this cotton candy is a hit.
I would give it 4 out of 5 stars because a little more cinnamon would definitely be a plus, but I chose to gave it 5 to counter the other 2 overly negative reviews, because it is definitely not as terrible as the others are claiming. Again, all of my video store customers love it and keep coming back for more. Take a chance like I did and try it for yourself, after reading this review and choosing to buy it I doubt you will be disappointed.

I bought this and repackaged it for a baby shower. It had a very slight cinammon flavor and pink, it's not like the puffy cotton candy you would get freshly made and you can't refluff it, I tried, but it was definitely worth the price I paid for it and what I needed it for. Quite a bit came in one package, I was surpised.

Hot Tamales is one of my favorite candies, but this is unrecognizable as being that flavor. It tastes like unflavored plain cotton candy (just sugar). I seriously doubt anyone blindfolded (it's pink colored which might give a visual clue) would ever be able to name the flavor. There is the barest hotish after effect on the tongue, but zero cinnamon flavor.
It doesn't even smell like cinnamon. I am surprised the company that makes Hot Tamales would allow such a poor product out with their proven Brand name! I'm stuck with a whole case of it now, and feel cheated. Without flavor, spun sugar is pretty blah! Maybe I'll just melt the rest of it into hot tea instead of sugar. What a waste
There is cotton candy that I love on Amazon, but it costs 5 times, by weight, then the Hot Tamales. I gave these a try because it seemed a better value. Heed my advice, buy the More expensive stuff, it's Bernod's Spun City Organic Cherry Vanilla Cotton Candy. They also make a Organic Grape flavor which is good, I just prefer the Cherry vanilla. You get what you pay for in this case.

There is disgusting, and then there is unconscionably disgusting. There should be a senate subcommittee appointed to investigate how something so catastrophically wretched can ever make it to the tongue of even one unsuspecting consumer. We deserve to be protected against this kind of confectionery terrorism. One bite and your mouth is ground zero.
Hot Tamales Cotton Candy. Not Hot. Not Tamales. Not Cotton. Not Candy. Protect yourselves...stay away.
