I am a professional DJ and use high end studio monitors for most of my needs - but I needed something crappy just to hook up to my computer for confidence monitoring. Ive known of Hercules as a brand for their well respected MIDI controllers and interfaces that get good reviews in the budget segment of pro DJing. So I was at my local bookstore and saw these. Picked em up for cheap and have to say I like the sound of them. Would take them over any pair of Logitechs of Cyber Acoustics any day simply because of their name brand. They do sound nice however, although sound wasnt really the reason I bought them. They look great and take up almost no desk space. If you are looking for a cheap pair of desktop/laptop speakers - take these. Neither Logitech nor Cyber Acoustics makes professional quality products - Hercules does.

Amazing speakers for the priceSep 16, 2010

After reading the 2 five star reviews and considering the price, I decided to get these speakers. I have never heard of Hercules before, but everywhere I went they had awesome reviews. I now know why. These speakers have amazing clarity and pretty good bass. These speakers are very closely matched to an old pair of Logitech Z-4 speakers I had which had an amp. Of course the bass isn't as good but the high's are just as good. You will look forever to find a better pair of speakers at this price. I recently bought a pair of Cyber Acoustic's 2.1 set here on Amazon, and they come no where close to the quality of these speakers. So, if your like me and like to try out new names, get these speakers. I promise you won't regret it. Hurry up and get them and write a 5 star review so more people know about them and don't waste their money on different speakers with less quality!
Edit: The only negetive to these speakers, which is hardly a negetive considering their amazing price, is the bright blue led light on the power speaker. It is really bright at nighttime. What I did was use a small piece of black industrial strength tape, placed it over the led, and now it lights up like it should have been. It doesn't look bad at all. I felt to dock a star for this, but then I thought about the sound quality and price and it far outweighed this little thing.

I basically got these cause I just wanted sound from my machine. The price and quality are on par I guess. My only complaint is that there is a lot of things that can interfere with the signal, resulting in a buzzing sound. I had to move a lamp to the other side of my desk to get rid of it.

Do not take a lot of space on the desk +
