Pretty tasty medium salsaJul 14, 2009

They don't specify if this is mild, medium, or hot. After trying, I would have to say it is medium. Has a pretty good bite, but won't make steam come out of your ears. Maybe not the absolute best, but I do really like the taste. I purchased this so I could send some salsa to my deployed husband.

I first tried this salsa on scrambled eggs in our company cafeteria in 2011. I love it!!! Medium bite at worst, so it's not extremely spicy. Now they are out of it and I want more! Can someone post where to get this stuff?

This is hotter than I expected it to be, but not uncomfortably so. I think I expected mild, but it turned out to be medium. It's good. And I like the size. I'm big on portion control. With this and a 3 ounce cup of nacho cheese, I have a small plate of nachos. Of course, I add refries and chips and fat free sour cream and some homemade guacamole, but the point is, the portion size is right. You don't have a huge dinner plate of nachos with this size salsa. You have a lunch plate size. So you've got the satisfaction of the snack without all the fat and calories of the bigger plate you'll fix when you have a bottle of salsa at hand. So hats off to Heinz for the portion control help, and um, it would be good if these were available at different strengths. I'd go for mild, but like I said, this is good. It's just not mild.
