 Good bag, terrible designSep 25, 2009

These bags are not like the tall kitchen bags. Instead of having 4 flaps to tie, these black bags have only 3 that are evenly spaced from each other. In other words, you have no good way of tying the bags shut!!! Who ever designed these bags with the 3 flaps should answer me this one question... WHY? Oh WHY?

These bags are strong, easy to open and easy to tie up once full. Someone else commented about a year ago that they only have 3 tie tabs but the ones I recently ordered have four tabs, equally spaced and easily tied. Perhaps Hefty redesigned them after the reviewer's comment. I have tried all sorts of trash bags but I like these best. We fill them to the limit and have never had one break yet. Be sure to measure the diameter and depth of your trash can so you can order the correct size. I use a steel kitchen trash can which has a 16" diameter and 29 1/2" height. The 30 gallon size gives me an overlap of 3" which is perfect. I love buying products like trash bags in large quantities so I don't have to add them to my grocery list every month or two. 240 bags will last me about 2 years and you can't beat the price, at least in my locale.

I have previously purchased a similar product locally that was 1.3 mil thick. To my surprise, this product was only 0.6 mil thick. The packages looks almost identical so read the fine print.
