Previous reviewer incorrectly rated this product! Maple Sugar is SUPPOSED to be grainy. Please understand the product before reviewing it. Maple sugar comes from maple syrup that is heated to the point of crystallization. Perhaps it wasn't what you expected but that doesn't mean its wrong in anyway. ***** - good product!

I ORDERED THIS BECAUSE MY AMAZON SUBSCRIPTION GRANULATED MAPLE SUGAR PRODUCT WAS OUT AND I WAS IN NEED. I WON'T BUY THIS AGAIN - IT IS OVERLY PROCESSED TO A FINE POWDER AND HAS NEXT TO NO FLAVOR. MAYBE IT WOULD BE GOOD FOR A BAKING SWEETENER BUT I USE IT ON MY MORNING OATMEAL AND FEEL THE EMPTY CALORIES AREN'T WORTH IT SINCE IT HAS NEXT TO NO FLAVOUR.

I add this sugar to dessert recipes- simple things like toast, oatmeal, and my grandmother's recipe for maple cake:)

Not so great. Sugar is grainy as if old or poorly processed. The maple flavor is great though. Although intended for table use we will probably use the sugar in Christmas baked goodies so it's not a total loss.
