Vegan. Natural. Tasty Indian treat. Little round "cinnamon roll" type snacks, but with a bouquet of flavors from aromatic spices including cinnamon, nutmeg, fennel, tamarind, coriander, cumin, and ginger. The spices are very finely ground and nearly indistinguishably blended for an amazing composite flavor. Delightful. An adventure in Indian spice alchemy. Crunchy consistency similar to sesame stick snacks found in many health food stores, but more flavorful. Not overly oily, but rich taste. A Gujarati delight. Gujarat is a state in India located north of Mumbai (Bombay) and is well known for the high percentage of orthodox Hindu vegetarians living there. By using only vegetable oils, this wonderful treat also lets Ama Gai [mother cow] save her milk for her own babies. Highly recommended for anyone who likes Indian flavor profiles or foods with a higher spice content done well, or is interested in an Asian flavor adventure. Medium spicy for authentic Indian snacks. Many spices for flavor, not for chili-type "heat." Much spice by American standards. Made with wheat flour, gram flour, vegetable oil [peanut & corn], sugar, green chili, salt, tamarind, fennel, coriander, sesame seeds, black pepper, cumin, ginger, nutmeg, mace, cinnamon, cardamon, and asafoetida. Haldiram is a top Indian snack food brand. Walking on the streets in India, you can find the small and big packets of Haldiram snacks nearly everywhere. Approx 1050 calories, 20g protein per bag.
