Not the real thing, but still pretty good.Aug 08, 2008

"realist"
I am sorry, but this is not authentic Dutch licorice. The original Dutch Licorice, known in Holland as 'Drop', is made with Arabic Gum. However, Gustaf's is made with Wheat Starch instead, probably because it is much cheaper. That does affect the taste, as Wheat starch has a more sticky pasty texture, where Arabic Gum has a firmer and smoother texture.
Nevertheless, this is by far the best 'Drop' I have found so far that is readily available in the USA for a decent price. Importing the real stuff can get quite expensive. So, I will be buying this again.

Very GoodApr 02, 2007
By R. Dekoch These are delcious. They have a good strong-ish (compared to what you can get in the US), slightly salty taste. I can easily eat a whole tub of these.

Unusual but very goodMay 06, 2008
By Z. Hamza This is a great licorice treat for big licorice fans. The drops are soft and much saltier than I was expecting but nevertheless, I could not stop eating them by the handful. Not for the feint of heart or non-licorice fans.
