Not worth buying despite the priceSep 15, 2011
By P.Ilou On my personal scale from 0 (worst) to 5 (best), these sardines that I have eaten several times rate as follows: appearance not appealing 1 out of 5; odor not enticing 2 out of 5; tastes nothing 2 out of 5; texture mushy 2 out of 5 and quantity in can suboptimal 2 out of 5. They do not taste spicy at all. A tiny carot slice included below the sardines has a very unpleasant taste of butyric acid. Stay away from this product.
Addendum January 2012 These are IMHO the worst sardines sold on Amazon.com (see my other reviews). They are unedible/hypersalty , not spicy at all, and the carrot is tiny or absent in each can = fraudulent because mentioned in the ingredient list. Not sure that a starving cat would even eat these sardines. Most likely not. After the first bite out of the can I never know what to do with the rest- feel like throwing it in the garbage and spiting with disgust what I have not swallowed- quite an ordeal. I should have asked for a reimbursement earlier, too late now. It is incredible that sardines can taste so bad. I would have not thought that possible. Dollar store sardines are not as bad tasting. That says a lot.
