Smoothest Shave for a ManApr 28, 2009
By Crime & Federalism
"Crime & Federalism"
I'm a man. I admit it: I shave my face with a woman's razor. My friends laugh, but it makes total sense. Which razor would provide a smoother shave - a product marketed towards women, or one marketed towards men?
Women know comfort. They know how to get a smooth shave. They know these subjects way better than men.
So I'll get the last laugh as my guy friends who are too insecure to shave with Venus Embrace, get nicks and razor burn.

THE ABSOLUTE BESTMay 08, 2010
By MissBargain This razor is the #1 on the market. If you hardly have any hair, you probably don't really need it. i have tried ***ALL*** the Venus collection and many others, so take it from a pro!!! i have the entire Venus line in every possible color and design, and this one is the queen of all by far. First it covers a much larger area so you are done shaving much faster than when using other razors. A few strokes and you're done. i was surprised to see that 2 more blades could make THAT much difference!!! i read a reviewer's comment saying that Embrace is the same as a 1 blade razor. NO WAY!! this one doesn't even compare to the one with 3 blades!!
it is so practical, you don't need to go over the same area more than once or twice. the smoothing "bands" (meant for exfoliation i suppose) seem to assist the shaving because they smoothe the area perfectly. i was TOTALLY IMPRESSED with this one. The head is very flexible so it really EMBRACES your sinuosities which prevents cuts. i have a sensitive skin but it is hard to cut yourself with this one - unless you overdo it or if you have very little hair. You don't need to keep running over the same area like with other razors, otherwise you WILL hurt yourself (it is normal with 5 blades!).
i read a review by a man who uses this razor, well i use men's foam! i DON'T use the foaming gels made for women. they foam much less than men's products. i use Edge or Gillette foam or Target's brand for men which are all great and last MUCH longer with cheaper prices.
i MUST thank Gillette for such a wonderful product. Venus Embrace, that is. i hate shaving, and this one definitely makes it less unpleasant for me.

Eh..May 07, 2011
By Emily I'm not really a fan of the Venus embrace but I've been using it for a while. I actually like using the men's gilette fusion a lot better I like the five blades and stuff but I feel like they're cheaply made and I get more razor burns and in grown hair with these. I think I'll be going back to the gilette fusion after I finish this pack.

excellent blades but wear down just like all othersAug 22, 2010
By Material Girl Venus Embrace makes for a smooth and fast shave, there is no need to apply pressure or repeatedly go over the same spot. I have not managed to cut myself with these - so I'd say they're safe as well. Just like all other razors, they gradually lose their sharpness - how soon that happens, depends on your shaving frequency. This is their only downside - which is why I bought this cartridge of 4 to have replacement razor heads available as soon as needed.

Stained the marble tiles in my shower.May 07, 2011
By julie This is a great razor. You get a close, smooth shave. A bit of warning when I had my master bathroom shower replaced with marble tiles, the cream strip on this razor left a drip mark that permanently stained the marble. If you have marble tiles, definitely test it out on a spare piece first. It's the moisture strip that made the stain.
